Bringing Children's Books to Life

50 Years of Inspiring Young Readers

Founded in 1975 by a group of determined parents, Aldbourne Children’s Book Group began as a campaign for children’s books in the local library.

Today, we are a thriving, volunteer-led charity connecting families, schools, and the wider community through storytelling, creative workshops, and author events.

ACBG members fund school visits, book donations, creative workshops, and storytelling sessions, bringing literacy and joy to children across the area.

New members are always welcome — join us and be part of our story!

"Every time we come along, our children leave buzzing with ideas and stories.
Aldbourne Children's Book Group events don’t just entertain the kids, they make reading feel magical and are always a highlight of our year. We love how ACBG really bring books to life in such wonderfully engaging way. Even on our busiest weeks, it’s always worth it, and the kids are beaming with smiles all the way home."
